Questions
It can, and it will not break — but the detergent takes the sheen off a glaze over years, and a hand wash in hot water keeps it longer. Wash the first one by hand, let it dry on a rack rather than a towel, and do not stack a heavy piece on a rim.
Fired stoneware takes both. What it does not take is a change of temperature in one move: no cold dish into a hot oven, and no hot pot set down on a wet bench. Warm it with the oven rather than before it, and let it come back down to room temperature on its own.
Every firing is a different day. Ash and iron move in the kiln, so the surface you have is the one that came out — a shade deeper, a break in the colour where the clay runs thin, a fine crackle across a bowl. That is the firing rather than a fault, and two pieces from the same batch will not match.
